About the Instructor
I've been involved in the music community in Colorado since 2015; teaching private and group lessons, repairing string instruments, volunteering with local school districts in Widefield and Pueblo to revive and strengthen their music programs, and fighting for proper funding for music in public schools.
During my Bachelor's Degree at CSU-Pueblo, I played violin in the Pueblo Symphony Orchestra for 3 years, and for the past several years I've been a vocal soloist in their concerts. I sung with the CSU-Pueblo Choirs for 5 years; performed with them as a soloist for choral festivals and tours in England, Scotland, and Colombia; and competed in 2 regional festivals hosted by the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). Nowadays, I'm a wedding singer and violinist, session musician, Comic Con artist, and the lead vocalist/bassist for Dream Fugitive, an Alt Rock band that has shows in venues across the Springs, and singles nearly ready for release!
As an adult with ADHD, I understand many of the struggles of learning disorders, and how important it is to focus on and build up the inherent talents of each and every student, instilling confidence and setting them up for success in every aspect of life. I'm dedicated to keeping the energy and intrigue flowing in every lesson, and bringing out each musician's personal style while giving them a well-rounded understanding of their genres of interest, in order to foster a lifelong love of music. I also encourage creativity and individuality in music-making, often arranging pieces and pop tunes for concerts, creating small student ensembles, developing songwriting skills, and teaching basic music production to increase variety according to students' goals and needs.
